Welcome to the Farm!

Hi Everyone! Thank you for visiting my very first post on my blog! It has been a dream of mine for the last year to start a blog. I want to share my journey of fixing up our farmhouse, all the DIY projects we have done/plan to do and mom life, all rolled into one fun site.

So a little bit about myself:

I was raised on the shoreline of Connecticut since I was 11 years old. I met my husband my senior year of high school (who also grew up in the same town, but no we were not high school sweet hearts). We went to separate colleges, I for nursing and him for accounting. We bought a great house in 2011 and were married in 2012. In 2015 we welcomed our first child, a sweet boy named TJ.

In the summer of 2016, after much negotiation (I think I agreed to move if I got a pool in the new house, which by the way I didn’t get!) we decided to buy a farmhouse on 13.13 acres of land. This is all while I began a new job at a new hospital. While I was very skeptical at first, the idea of raising my son in such a sweet town and on a farm sounded perfect. I work in a city and loved the idea of living my life on a country landscape. Then my head began to fill with all the exciting new home renovation ideas. Every night my husband and I would talk about ideas we had for the house, which were very similar making it all the more exciting.

      So here we are 9 months into the project. We plan to move into the house in a few weeks!!!

I will share a lot of the before and after pictures we have so far, tell the good, the bad and the ugly of home renovation while living with your parents (insert wide eyed emoji here) and the stories that come up of life on the farm. Stay tuned!!
